Effects of transdiagnostic group treatment for sleep disturbances in adult attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorders and autistic spectrum disorder: a pilot study

Abstract Although adult patients with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism spectrum (ASD) often have sleep problems, few studies verified the effect of a psychological approach specific to sleep–wake rhythms on these disturbances. Therefore, aim this pilot study was develop trans-diagnostic scheduling regularity duration as core modules, examine intervention in ADHD and/or ASD subjects This within-group study. Ten disturbances (10 males, age: 27.4 ± 5.6 years) took part 90-min weekly group for 5 weeks. All participants were assessed scales complaints, anxiety, depression, symptoms before after intervention, at 3-month follow-up. The results showed that significantly improved post-intervention ( p = 0.003, d 1.30, 95% CI 0.31–2.28) follow-up 0.035, 0.41, − 0.48 1.30). In addition, attention switching reduced 0.031, 1.16, 0.19–2.13). is first primarily led an improvement disturbances, followed by disease-specific ASD.
